SMART EARS - Giving Deaf Children a Voice Through Listening and Talking - Pratibha Srinivasan AuD. CCC-A LSLS Cert.AVT

I have over 25 years experience teaching children with hearing loss to listen and talk. This experience has been with infants, children and their families as well as school aged children. In 1999 I founded Chattering Children - a private, non-profit auditory-verbal clinic and auditory-oral school. I have had experience in all aspects of setting up and running the organization. This includes direct provision of auditory-verbal therapy and auditory-oral educational services, grant writing, publicity and marketing, effective use of technology, financial management and professional training. Today, Chattering Children is a well-known leader in teaching children with hearing loss to listen and speak. As founder and Executive Director of Chattering Children I have dealt with all publics including families of children with hearing loss, school districts, foundation directors, advocacy organizations, local civic organizations as well as the lay public.
I have been on the Board of the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf as Chairperson of the professional section, and served as Chairperson of the Certification Council of the former Auditory-Verbal International.
I recently stepped down as Executive Director of Chattering Children (June 2008) to pursue my interest in professional training and program development in the U.S. and around the world, especially in areas where services are scarce. I provide a wide range of services from one week intensive programs for families and their therapists, program consulting for school districts, therapy for infants and children with hearing loss, small group therapy, as well as general seminars and workshops.
