Flipchart by Bryan C. Merton. ISBN: 0966295900. A flip-book of communication boards. There are numerous uses for the Flipchart: Hospital care, Doctors offices, Nursing Homes and Speech Therapy Centers to name only a few. Hospitals can use it to communicate with intensive care patients unable to speak for various reasons such as intubation, throat damage and stroke. Patients can also take it home with them for further use as they recover and regain the ability to speak. It first promotes good will for the hospital and second provides the caregiver with a way to communicate more clearly with their patient. The Flipchart is currently in use in several hospitals in the Southern California area. Also an excellent tool to have at retirement homes aiding the staff and patients in communication. It is simple to use, easy to understand, and an invaluable tool in providing quality patient care.
